Earl Grey Tea - English Classic Tea Recipe

Ingredients for one Cafes Richard tea pot (45 cl / 15.2163 oz)

Earl Grey tea - 1 sachet

Or Earl Grey loose leaf tea - 1-2 tea spoons

Fresh full cream milk - 1 milk jug

Lemon (optional) - 1 fine slice or zest

Refined and unrefined sugar (optional) - a few lumps

  • Scald the teapot. Place a sachet or one to two tea spoons of loose leaf tea in the tea pot. Pour over water heated to 90 °C (194 °F). Leave to steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove the bags or strain if you use loose leaf tea. 

  • Add a drop of milk and a smidgen of sugar (optional), just to soften the tea. 

  • Add a sprinkling of lemon zest to the pot to bring out the citrus note of the Grand Earl Grey,

Suggestion
